What parents say about Cossins Music School is so very important. Every so often I get a message from a parent telling me how much they love classes. However the following email really made my day!
Testimonial from Fiona
I first met Mel in 2011 after seeing her ‘Music for Minors’ class advertised locally, when I was looking for something to do with my daughter Annabelle, then four months. I would never consider myself a musical person but decided I could sing well enough to impress a four month old and that, as such, I would give it a go!
About Early Years Classes
(my child) really engages with each lesson and it has taught him rhythm from an early age. The classes are also good for encouraging your little ones to socialise and mix with other children, they learn key skills like sharing and putting things away as well as learning about music in a fun environment. The classes are as fun for the adults as they are for the children.” Claire (EY classes)
Both of my children went to Melanie’s music classes between the ages of 1 and 3yr old. We all enjoyed them. Mel’s enthusiasm is infectious, and we have continued to sing songs we learnt with her at home. Rock-a-bye is one of our favourites! And we even sing along with her CDs in the car. If you are looking for something fun, social and educational to do with your pre-schooler or baby you can not go far wrong. I can also recommend “Sing It Out”, an informal adult singing group, which is brill for lots of reasons. You always feel better after singing, there is always laughing, often tea, and very occasionally bell ringing! There is a different theme for the songs each term, and once again Melanie’s experience and enthusiasm makes it something you should try if you think you’d like to sing, but weren’t quite brave enough” Amanda (EY Classes and Sing It Out!)
I’ve been taking my 14 month old son to Cossins baby music class for a few months now and I can honestly say it’s the highlight of our week. My son really loves the singing, movement and activities and is starting to show a real sense of rhythm. Mel is wonderful with children and captivates them with songs and puppets. I would recommend these classes anyone wanting to introduce their children to music, however young.” Charlotte (EY Classes)
I take my grandson to a morning music session with Melanie that is fabulous! He loves the interactive singing, instruments and visual aids that Mel whisks out of her bag to bring the music and rhythm alive. It’s a really fun time for us to spend together. Thanks 🙂 While there, I learned about the adult Sing it Out choir, so I joined that and that’s fab too!! Informal, yet working together to create good quality music, not too highbrow, just likeminded people enjoying a good sing, lead by Melanie, who clearly knows her stuff and shares her skill with enthusiasm. Love it!” Vicki (EY classes and Sing It Out!)
About Other Classes
I attend Melanie’s Thursday sing it out, Mel is a really good teacher and makes the sessions fun and relaxing. Its a great way to spend an evening out. My daughter also attends her Friday morning toddlers music class, she loves it. Mel is fantastic with the children and even when there are toddlers running everywhere nothing seems to phase her!!!!!” Suzanne (EY classes & Sing It Out!)
Melanie is fantastic at her vocation , my son has had a few lessons with her and has seen a vast improvement in his vocal range and is so happy to be hitting those notes. I would highly recommend ” Donna (Vocal Tuition)
