My nearly 3 year old son loves coming every week and sings the songs back at home unprompted, which proves to me how much he is enjoying and learning.
I appreciate Melanie’s warmth and friendliness and am also impressed at the range of resources she uses to engage the children with – a completely interactive, fun and educational class which I highly recommend.
Would you like to give your child and experience of a lifetime?
As parents we are constantly bombarded with what we should be doing with our children. Life is hectic.
However, isn’t it nice to spend some quality, fun time with our children and not be distracted by everyday jobs?
Music classes are a great way of having fun with your child. In a relaxed atmosphere you will sing new songs. Easy to learn. Easy to sing.
All our classes encourage creativity, independence, ideas, confidence and are always lots of fun!
Don’t forget that singing also aids language and mathematical development, social and emotional skills as well as gross and fine motor movements!

Martha loves to sing and these classes have helped her understanding of rhythm and pulse. She can hold a tune pretty well! We have learnt lots of lullabies, I sing these to Tabitha at bedtime and it really helps her to settle. Jessica
Cossins Music school Early Years classes specialise in developing children’s musical literacy and love of music through the use of singing games and rhymes. Early Years classes & Musicianship classes use only the pure singing voice which is much better for children to listen, internalise and produce sound, you may find that you become a better more confident singer too!
We are all born with an innate feeling for pulse (or beat) through the use of singing and movement this feeling is enhanced. Pulse is the basis of all musical learning without it we could not have rhythm. This is essential to any musician!
Have you ever wondered why you instinctively rock your baby? This is your natural ability to find pulse. We all walk and move to a pulse be it sometimes fast or sometimes slow. The approach used in all classes enhances this natural ability in a fun way enabling children to feel pulse through songs, rhymes, movement, body percussion, use of puppets, fabrics and tuned or percussive instruments.
We love the fun songs and movements (not just regular nursery rhymes) and trying different instruments and using props. It is great that there are new songs every couple of weeks. Also seeing the other adults and children all having fun together. Jenny
Not only does this approach develop pulse but also an understanding of pitch, rhythm, dynamics (loud/quiet), tempo (fast/slow) and improves inner hearing…..you know that child who always sang slightly out of tune in the choir? Well that child probably didn’t have the chance to develop their inner hearing! So why not start your child’s musical journey today and bring them along to a class that is engaging, fun and full of singing?
Participating in singing activities also promotes:
Language development- through rhyming and phonics
Mathematical Skills – counting beats, understanding of number and counting through songs.
Creativity and Imagination – using tools (scarves, percussion instruments and puppets) in different ways; creating new songs
Memory, concentration and retention – repetition of songs and the physical movement or visual aids help children to remember things
Social and emotional – listening, co-operating, taking turns, solo singing builds self-confidence
Melanie’s classes are lively and full of fun. She is very natural and relaxed with the children…nothing fazes her!!! Suzanne
